About Tiggly Conservation Crafts
Tiggly was created by Pip Millard and Jessica Lorenzelli, both Veterinary nurses with a love for animals and a passion for special gifts and home wares!
Tiggly Conservation Crafts came to fruition by chance, starting with an email from Gilly Hill, Pip's contact in Zambia, Africa. Gilly needed somebody to distribute crafts within the UK, from her craftwork business in Zambia.
Jess decided to team up with Pip and help create a business that works within clear ethical boundaries, to deliver something different and altogether unique to the UK.
We endeavour to source crafts that have been produced with a conservation element in mind, relating to people, animals or the environment. We will not buy crafts that promote one element whilst compromising another.
We also aim to minimise the environmental impact of our business in the UK, using (where possible) recycled packaging, biodegradable materials (our fabrics will be wrapped in acid free tissue paper, not plastic) and the web for promotional ventures, reducing paper information and brochures!
We plan to source crafts from all over the world eventually, but these gorgeous African Crafts are where we are going to begin!
Mission statement
Rather than to donate funds from our profits back into these communities, Tiggly Conservation Crafts aim to actually create a sustainable business market, with job creation and development of alternative skills, through marketing and selling these products in the UK.
